Tan.Baafi is an ongoing research-creation process around social imaginaries of the body and it enquires and reimagines the ways in which bodily-based knowledge could be engaged in the core of knowing methodologies in academic research, art making and education.

Tan.Baafi is network of support, discussion and co-working for movers wayfaring between movement practice and research.
Hybrid of our doing and thinking investigations and mainely inspired by applied anthropology and practice-based research methodologies we pivote constantly between the fieldwork and the study à table. Our regular encounters open spaces to generate and mobilize the tools of bodily knowledge through artistic creation, research and community interventions.

Tan.Bafi is a residency, a space of creation for unique dispositions where artistes and scholars are invited to explore creative modalities of doing and thinking that challenge classical conventions of movement practices and intellectual investigations. In workshops participants from different backgrounds share, discuss and value each others contribution for creating new pathways of movement, communication and thought. In open-studios artist-researchers present their creation en cours and take the chance to engage in a a conversation with other movers and the public.

Tan.Baafi is a multi-linguistic magazine, a plat-form of documentation and development for innovative collective projects, alternative solutions and personal methodologies which color various interpretations and implications of movement and dance in our societies. We are interested in the heterogeneity of approaches but also in the diversity of formats documenting them, like written articles, podcasts, videographic and performing reviews. Movers from different backgraounds are welcome to contribute in either persian, english or french
